I Won’t Contest Against Yahaya Bello in 2019 – Achuba

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba has warned his detractors to desist from the rumour that he has the intention to contest against his boss, Governor Yahaya Bello in 2019 Governorship election in the state, maintaining that “Governor Bello’s government is my government”.

Achuba, according to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, stated this at a rally organised by the Kogi East  Group in support of Governor Yahaya Bello’s government at the Kogi State University Stadium, Anyigba.

The Deputy Governor said the task of delivery uncommon dividend of democracy is the concern of Governor Yahaya Bello’s government which he belongs, urging the detractors of the government to join hands with the GYB team in its determination to take the state to the next level of development.

He said as for him and his people, Governor Yahaya Bello’s government, which he said is the best ever, remains their government now and beyond 2019.

Achuba urged all Igala extractions and the entire kogi state indigenes to support the present administration of the state led by Governor Yahaya Bello, maintaining that the administration, within one year, has performed beyond expectations.

He said though the Governor is not from Igala land which is the majority, but most of his development programmes and projects are channeled towards Igala land.

The Deputy Governor enumerated the projects executed in Kogi East to include, Ankpa Township Road, Construction, Anyigba, Ejwe, Umomi-Idah road, Shintaku, Gbokolo-Dekina road, Sheria Oguma bridge and Ibana Okpo-Ogugu road.

Other projects awarded in Kogi East, according to the Deputy Governor, were Ankpa-Abejukolo-Bagana road, Omala Electrification project, Idah, Onyedega, Odeke-Ujeh road, Anyigba Township and Idah Township Road.

He said Governor Yahaya Bello, by the award of these projects, has distinguished himself among the leadership of the state in particular and the country at large.

While further reiterating his commitment  to the GYB administration, the Deputy Governor said “together we shall move Kogi state forward”.

Earlier in his address at the occasion, the Executive Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello commended the people for identifying with his government, saying he will continue to develop all parts of the state.

He also commended the royal fathers over their prayers and support for his government, stating that his administration is all inclusive and intended to touch the lives of the people.

The Governor urged all Kogites to join hands with him in the task of building the kogi of their dreams.
