House of Assembly member representing Igalamala/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Honourable (Elder) Friday Sani Makama, narrowly escaped armed attack in his country home on Christmas day.
The armed assailant were said to have come in police uniform.
The armed men, numbering 65, stormed the community at about 10.00 a.m. on Christmas day asking for the whereabouts of Honourable Friday.
Reports from Odolu said that Honourable Sani escaped through the back door by jumping over the fence of the house.
The gunmen, who allegedly arrived in eight Hilux buses, ransacked the lawmaker’s house beat his aged father and members of his family to stupor before leaving.
It was also alleged the hoodlums carted away items, including N5 million constituency fund.
Property worth several millions naira were reportedly destroyed. Cars parked in the compound were also destroyed.
