The conferment of this year’s prestigious HOG award as the Governor of the year bestowed on Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada has been described as well deserved by Yomi Awoniyi, state Deputy Governor.
Awoniyi in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, said this year’s edition of the prestigious Hall of Grace award is a recognition of the Governor’s unparalleled achievements especially in the area of agriculture.
The statement described the remarkable achievements in agriculture achieved under the Wada administration as historic and mind blowing, a feat the statement noted has placed the state on the world map of agriculture especially in rice production.
The statement commended Capt Wada’s all round transformation programs in the state, describing the programs as people oriented that has today placed the state as a state envied by others in the prudent use of resources, said the award for this year’s edition of the prestigious Hall of Grace is timely and a morale booster.
Awoniyi in the statement described leaders as Capt. Wada’s as very rare to come by, priceless to quantify, committed to the improved living standard of his people, said the award calls for worthy celebration.
Awoniyi congratulated other award recipients of this years HOG award who include; the immediate past minister of agriculture and President-elect African Development Bank, AfDB Dr. Akinwumi Adeshina, former governors Otunba Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso of Kano State, urged them to allow the recognition spur them to do more for society and humanity at large.
Awoniyi challenged the recipients to allow the honour to ginger them in offering more selfless service in the years ahead to their fatherland.
