The Head of the Department of Mass Communication of Kogi State University, Dr Gabriel Ottah, is to be ordained Elder of the United Evangelical Church (UEC) on Sunday 29th October 2017.
Our reporter learnt from a statement made available by the Organising Committee for the ordination that Dr Gabriel Alhassan, who has been a Deacon of the Church since 2012 will be elevated to the status of an Elder along with three other Deacons.
The three others to be ordained include Emmanuel Atokolo, Thomas Achonu and Austin Sani and the event would hold at the Ubomu Worship Centre of the UEC in Idah.
The ceremony, it was further gathered, will be officiated by the Idah Area Conference Chairman, Rev Daniel Ebune, and it will start at 9 o’clock in the morning.
The statement added that the Minister in Charge of the New Nyanya, Abuja Centre of the UEC, Rev Friday Olokwu, will be the Guest Speaker, while the Resident Minister, UEC Ubomu Idah, will host the ordination service.
The organisers further told our reporter that there is going to be a reception immediately at Idah Hotel and it is to be chaired by the Director of Academic Planning of Kogi State University, Anyigba, Prof Friday Ogbe.
Other dignitaries expected at the reception include the Administrator of Ibaji LGA, Hon Thomas Offor who will be the Chief Host. The Onu Aya, Professor Joseph Ukwede; and the Ohi Ogba Mozum, Chief Bukar Ali, will be Royal Fathers of the day.
Also expected to grace the occasion is the Member representing Ibaji Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon John Abah, who will be the Special Guest of Honour.
The organisers called on participants and guests to be punctual.
