Frontline Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Alhaji Abubakar Idris has restated his commitment to turn around all sectors in the state to ensure maximum utilization of available resources.

Abubakar bared his mind while fielding questions from newsmen in his Abuja office on Monday.

He bemoaned the the under-performing education and health sectors in the state. He noted that virtually all sectors of the economy in the state are in bad shape.

He assured the people of Kogi state that no stone will be left unturned in his avowed determine to reverse the ugly trend in the state economic sectors, when elected.

The governorship aspirant stated that he will deploy his high networth connections within and outside Nigeria to draw investors into the state.

He explained that he has started holding strategic meetings with possible investors with special focus on education, health, agriculture and job creation. He revealed that one of the investors has shown interest in establishing a manufacturing concern in Kogi that will mass produce classroom equipments and instructional materials. This, he said, will add value to the standard of education in the state.

According to him, the would be investors will be offered exciting incentives from the state government.

In the health sector, Alhaji Abubakar Idris pledged to upgrade existing health facilities in the state. He stated that he is currently studying the ‘Obama Care’ health insurance scheme with the hope of introducing similar initiative in Kogi state.

“All year round, with our determination, experience and expertise as well as wherewithal, Kogi should be able to produce large tonnes of rice, millet, yam, cowpea, guinea corn, cassava, tomato and other farm products that can sustain the entire state and north central zone,” he said.

Abubakar pledged to hit the ground running when he assumes office as Governor of the state in January 2020.
