The Action Alliance (AA) in Kogi State, in a move aimed at better positioning it to win the November 11 gubernatorial polls, has inaugurated a new executive council in the Central senatorial district of the state.

The new executive to be headed by Alh. Abdulaziz Yusuf, popularly known as Okadigbo, was inaugurated during a programme organised at the weekend to further plan the success of the campaign of the party’s governorship candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh at the Royal Hotels, Zango, Adavi LGA and was coordinated by the State’s executive council led by the Chairman, Alh Musa Ukwenya.

The newly inaugurated Chairman, Yusuf, who was a former member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), spoke on behalf of other members of the executive as he stated that “the decisions for some of us to defect from the ruling party, APC, PDP, ADC and other political parties to the Action Alliance (AA) was because the party’s candidate, Olayinka Braimoh is a personality with flawless character; a highly talented one who possesses God-given abilities to undertake the task of rebuilding our state and restoring the lost confidence in government and governance back to the people.

“His vision alone is a clear indication of his touch of finesse to create and distribute wealth among the people of Kogi state. More over, his knowledge and understanding on maintenance of peace and development is top-notch.

“He is a new breed politician without any baggage of corruption. He is the candidate who will unite Kogites, by pulling our people out of poverty, and creating a new sense of patriotism in Kogi state

“On this note, I have no doubt on my mind that the candidate of our great party will transform Kogi State into the fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), through the application of scientific and technological innovations to create digital economy.

“Assuredly, he will build expansive and world class infrastructure for efficient power supply, road and rail network, through integrated public-private partnership, and entrepreneurial public sector governance.

“He will enhance the human capital development of Kogi State youths for productivity and global competitiveness, through investment in world-class scholarship and research, quality healthcare, and entrepreneurship education.

“Our candidate will restructure the polity through effective legal and institutional reforms to entrench the rule of law, aggressively fight corruption, reduce cost of governance, and establish a honest and efficient civil service for Kogi State”.

While addressing members of the new executive, Otunba Braimoh, who was thereafter introduced as the party’s flag bearer in the November 11 governorship election, appreciated the executive members and further addressed them on his wealth creation (STAT) agenda.

He said, “The measurement of the wealth of any state is a function of the status of every citizen of the state. It is only when the citizens are financially buoyant that the state can be said to be financially stable. Supporting the STAT agenda will surely bring our collective dream of making Kogi State become a healthy and wealthy society to fruition and this will invariably increase the standard of living of the entire citizens of the State”.

It is believed that the party decided to commence a gradual restructuring of its structure as part of the winning strategies, for the upcoming polls. the party saw the need to have a more formidable team, strong enough to compliment the popularity of Braimoh’s candidacy, propagate the beauty of his wealth creation agenda and at the end, come out victorious in the election.

Consequently, the party decided to restructure by getting the best individuals to manage her affairs across the state, starting from the central senatorial district, the newly constituted executive members.
