Ahead of Friday’s conduct of the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Deputy National Publicity Secretary and frontline gubernatorial aspirant of APC, Hon. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, has urged the card-carrying member of the party in Kogi State to vote in capacity and experience that comes with a clear and workable plan to deal with prevalent issues and challenges.
Murtala made this known while interacting with stakeholders and card-carrying members of the APC on Monday.
The governorship aspirant insisted that Kogi deserves the best, adding that Governor Yahaya Bello has shown the capacity to deal with challenges, and that must be sustained.
At the meeting, the gubernatorial aspirant restated that decisions about the 2023 Kogi governorship elections should be based on what is best for the state and its teaming youth.
“Dear leaders and esteemed card-carrying members of our party, the APC. I am humbled and honored to be with you today as a governorship aspirant. I come before you with a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to serve the people of our great state to the best of my ability.
“Our party, the APC, is the best platform to bring about the positive change our state desperately needs. Our state is at a critical juncture, and we need leaders who have the vision, experience, and determination to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.
“As you consider your choice for the next governor, I urge you to consider my experience and track record of achievement. I deeply understand the issues that affect our communities. I have a proven record of success in creating jobs, improving education, and promoting economic growth.
“If you vote for me and we go ahead to win the general election — as your governor, I will work tirelessly to create a prosperous and equitable state. I will prioritize healthcare, education, agriculture, food security, job creation, youth, and women empowerment. I ensure that every citizen can access the resources they need to thrive.
“I am committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership. Public service is a sacred trust, and I will always put the people’s interests first.
“Together, we can build a brighter future for our state and create a legacy of progress and prosperity for future generations,” he said.
Murtala assured the APC members of his avowed commitment to improving the living standard of every resident of the state.
