Governor Bello Votes in Okene, Charges Electorate on Peaceful Conduct

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello earlier today joined other Nigerians to participate in the Presidential and National elections holding across the country, with a call on the electorate to be peaceful, orderly and law abiding during and after the polls. 

Gov Bello who alongside his wives arrived their polling unit at Open space Agassa in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for fulfilling its promise of addressing all logistical challenges that led to the postponement of the earlier scheduled polls.

Speaking to newsman after casting his vote, the Governor described the exercise as generally peaceful and charged voters to have confidence in INEC, stressing that the commission has shown signs of appreciable improvement in the entire exercise.

While urging the electorate to cooperate with electoral officials and security personnel to guarantee peaceful polls, Governor Bello admonished them to report any electoral malpractice to the appropriate authority.

“The entire process has been generally peaceful, an indication that we all interested in today’s election. INEC has lived up to our expectations by the way and manner it has made arrangement for today’s exercise. This is an indication that our democracy is growing and Nigerians are becoming much more interested in the electoral process”.
