Gov Wada to Secure Agric Loan

Kogi state government in collaboration with the Bank of Agriculture is to secure N2 billion naira credit facility in support of agric development in the state.

The credit scheme which is to be disbursed to farmers in the state would be launched in October in Lokoja.
The state Governor, Captain Idris Wada made this known while holding discussion on the partnership with the management team of the bank of Agriculture.
He gave the assurance that agricultural development will continue to be accorded priority under his administration as he expressed happiness that Kogi state is blessed with arable land and abundant natural resources that could make his agricultural transformation agenda reliable.
According to Governor Wada the agric credit scheme was aimed at encouraging farmers to embark on their various agricultural activities.
The governor described agric as the main sustenance of the state economy with a promised that effort will be made by his administration to develop the sector.
Earlier, the MD/CEO of the Bank of Agriculture Dr Mohammed Turaki said the Bank is not relenting in its oars in the provision of credit facilities to boost rural agriculture across the country.
Of the N2 billion Agric credit scheme, the Bank of Agric will offer N1billion naira while Kogi state will also make a counterpart contribution of N1 billion naira.
