Gov. Bello Assures New Kogi Police Commissioner of Support

Governor Yahaya Bello has assured the new Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Mr Janga Aliof Kogi state government’s support in an effort to rid the state of crimes.
Bello the assurance when he received the new commissioner in Government House, Lokoja, today.
He pointed out that he inherited a state that was a safe haven for criminals, and revealed that it is now about the safest in the country, a development he attributed to the commitment of government and the determination of the security agencies to free the state from the pangs of insecurity.

The governor appealed to the new Police boss to build on the successes already achieved in the fight against crime and criminality, and enjoined the people of the state to accord him the necessary support and cooperation.

Governor Bello lauded the efforts of his predecessor, Wilson Inalegwu, saying that his contribution in keeping the state safe would not be forgotten.
The Governor urged him to woo the commitment of his officers and men to key into his vision and strategies, revealing that compromising officers could frustrate his efforts.
In his speech, the Police Commissioner, Mr Janga Ali, said his posting to Kogi was a privilege and assured of his resolve to fight crime to a standstill in the state.
He promised to improve on some of the gains already achieved by his predecessors, and implored the people of the state to volunteer useful information that could enhance the success in the fight against crime and criminality.
