Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have stooped so low to engage in useless and unproductive mudslinging with Dino Melaye. But posterity would not judge us fairly if we did not rise up against the gang up and set the records straight.
Senator Dino Melaye is not a new name in the Nigeria political sphere, we all know his notoriety in always championing any course that would satisfy his egocentrism and self-aggrandisement. Those of us who knows Dino so well will attest to the fact that the man has a very large and insatiable appetite attention, he does that without shame or dignity. At this point it would be safe to say mudslinging is the middle name of Dino Melaye.
Responding to some of the many lies that Dino and his gang are peddling. We are making it categorically clear that His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is and remains the number One (1) Leader of the of the APC in Kogi State. This is factual, and no amount of gimmicks by Dino and his gang of “Diaspora Politicians” can change that.
Alhaji Yahaya Bello contested and won the election to become the Executive Governor of Kogi State, this position was confirmed by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
On the celebration of His Excellency’s one year in office it would be important for Dino to understand that those who has the genuine interest of Kogi State at heart were all on ground that day, even some National Representatives from Kogi, over fifteen (15) party LG chairmen were on ground that day. So, who where are the APC leaders that Dino talked about? Where did he get the five Serving Senators that he claimed attended the meeting? Because as far as we know, Kogi has just 3 Serving Senators in the National Assembly, of which two (2) out of the three Senators belongs to the PDP yet they were with the Governor to celebrate with him on One year of purposeful leadership. This occasion witnessed the commissioning of projects and also the flagging off of new projects that would be completed soonest. This is an unprecedented feats ever recorded in the history of One year anniversary celebration in Kogi State. Though the Governor decided to mark it on a low key, it still witnessed a large turnout of supporters and those who sees and believes in the New Direction road map of this administration.
Dino said that he has pedigree. We are forced to ask what is the pedigree of Sen. Dino Melaye? Is it the fact that he has turned himself to a bodyguard in the National Assembly? Or his insensitive and undiplomatic lifestyle, epitomised in his opulent lifestyle, and violent tendencies. Dino’s kind of display of rascality and insensitivity should not be seen or heard of a Nigerian Senator at this critical time of our national history, yet he refers to himself as an activist and one who is concerned for his people if parading oneself in flashy and costly vehicles, or consuming of costly customised wine is what Dino refers to as concerns for his people, then he needs to get his priorities checked again.
Furthermore, he said that Governor Bello was not there when “they” laboured for the party. This is quite laughable. Senator Dino Melaye may be suffering from loss of memory or he is simply being economical with the truth to suit his selfish interest. For the records, Governor Yahaya Bello has been in the struggle with the APC since inception. He and his team campaigned rigorously and helped in delivering Kogi State to the APC during the last Presidential election, and have also continued to play a critical role in the affairs of the APC both at the State and National level. Example of this are the critical role play by His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in the elections of both Edo and Ondo State which saw APC cruise to victory.
The four weeks ultimatum issued by Sen Dino and his gang of diaspora politicians on the issue of salaries and pension payment can only be liken to a circus monkey trying to steal a show. For the records, Kogi State Government is not owing any genuine workers. Those still owed are these who are still uncleared by the screening committee. The Governor has also ordered that those who were recently cleared should be paid all their entitlements immediately, and has reiterated that after the whole screening no genuine workers or pensioner will be owed a dime. Dino and his group are just trying to ride on that order to steal the glory at end of the day.
Finally, the plans of Senator Dino Melaye to lord himself over the Governor has failed woefully, hence, his recent vituperation. We urge all the good and progressive minded people of kogi state not to relent in their support to the Governor. No amount of distraction can deter His Excellency from delivering on His campaign promises to Kogi State.
