Former Kogi Assembly Speaker Congratulates Prince Shuaibu Audu on Ministerial Nomination, Successful Screening

The former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has congratulated Prince Shuaibu Abubakar, son of late Prince Audu Abubakar, the first Executive Governor of Kogi State, on his ministerial nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and successful screening by the Senate to represent Kogi State in the federal executive council.

Kolawole said his nomination has further confirmed the good intention of Mr President to include the younger generation in his cabinet to bring fresh blood and ideas on board to fast track development for the country.

Prince Kolawole also used the opportunity to congratulate Governor Yahaya Bello for supporting the nomination of Prince Shuaibu Abubakar, stressing that he is not surprised with the decision of the governor to throw his support behind Prince Shuaibu being a detribalized leader who only look for competent hands who can support Mr President that will bring to the fore the needs of Kogites at the national level.

He further noted that the nomination is another opportunity to appreciate the family of the late Audu Abubakar for his giant contributions to the overall development of not only Kogi state but the entire country when alive, stressing that Governor Yahaya Bello’s has proved to be a worthy successor.

He appealed to all Kogites to support the Ministerial designate as his competence, capacity and experience in the banking sector over the years will go a long way for him to handle any ministry assigned to him.

Prince Shaibu was Executive Director of Stanbic IBTC Bank before coming into active politics.

He joined the campaign train of Tinubu Campaign Organisation and participated actively by donating campaign vehicles and other materials for the Presidential campaign.

He is an astute financial and banking expert with a background in merchant banking, corporate finance, economics and international finance at both national and international levels.

The ministerial designate while in the bank was in charge of properties, a leading investment. He was an executive director of  merchant Investment Banking & Trust Company Limited, now Stanbic IBTC.
