FOR A FREE, FAIR, TRANSPARENT AND CREDIBLE SENATORIAL PRIMARIES IN KOGI WEST:
Hon. Adoga Ibrahim, Senior Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Multilateral and Donor Agency must not be allowed to be the Returning Officer for the election.
Proper screening of delegates to authenticate their identities with the use of the Party register, party membership card/slip with affixed passport photographs in addition to any other means of identification.
Ballots should be in a box and sorted later as is the standard practice. Anything to the contrary will serve the interests of a few individuals to the detriment of the party. By choosing the indirect primaries option, there should be no veiled attempt to introduce certain guidelines of the Direct primaries model.
If, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is truly desirous of entrenching sound democratic ideals it has espoused, taking the aforementioned very seriously will be a step in the right direction.
