… As Governor clears clubs’ entitlements.
Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens Mallam Abdul Sule has heaped praises on the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on his continued support for the state owned clubs to achieve greatness in their respective leagues.
Abdul Sule who stated this in Lokoja on Saturday noted that the clubs have been enjoying prompt responses under the current administration with enormous motivation for the players and officials.
He said the encouragement would further boost the morale of the playing personnel to perform creditably in their various leagues just as he reassured the government that Kogi United and Confluence Queens would raise the bar of their performances in the coming season to further be a force to reckon with in Nigeria.
“I want to commend the state government under Governor Yahaya Bello for its continuous support to both Kogi United and Confluence Queens as well as the Feeders team,
“The government has been responsive to matters concerning us trough the Chief of Staff, Honorable Edward Onoja who has also been very supportive, this reflects the Governor’s passion for the game and interest in youth development through sports.
“There’s motivation and encouragement for the teams and having this coming from the governor will continue to spur us to give more than what we’ve been giving.
“All entitlements to the players and officials have been cleared, but as an Oliver Twist, we can only ask for more and I want to reassure the Governor and the football loving people of Kogi State that we will redouble our efforts this coming season to get the promotion ticket for Kogi United and of course for Confluence Queens to claim the Women Premier League title,” he said.
Meanwhile, Monday January 8 has been announced as the resumption date for the players and officials of both Kogi United and Confluence Queens to continue preparation for the new league season.
