FMC Lokoja Unveils N137m Maternity Complex

The Federal Medical Centre , Lokoja, on Wednesday  inaugurated a new maternity building complex worth N137 million.
The board Chairman of the Centre, Chief Chibudom Nwuche while inaugurating the complex commended the management for initiating the project and ensuring its completion on schedule.
Nwuche, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives also charged the management and staff to ensure proper maintenance of the new facility.
Sen. Sadiq Yaradua who represented Nwuche at the event praised the Federal Government for funding the project which he will impact positively on the health of women and children.
A new standard ambulance donates by the Japanese government to the Centre was also inaugurated alongside the new maternity building.
The Chief Medical Director of the Centre, Dr Olatunde Alabi said that the maternity complex was embarked upon as part of efforts to provide quality healthcare services to the people.
He said that the facility which is fitted with modern equipment, a standby power generator and state system among others, saying that it will serve other adjoining states.
