Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon Kingsley Fanwo has charged the management of Graphic Newspapers to use every edition to speak to different segment of the public by creating more contents.
Fanwo made the charge Tuesday at a high-powered management meeting of the Ministry. He said it is time Graphic wore a new look and “hatch itself from the shells of the past”.
“Graphic Newspapers is our image as a state. It must conform to the standards of the New Direction Government”, he said, adding that the paper must henceforth “operate as a big and dominant competitor that is ready to capture the media sphere”.
He also charged the Ministry Management to “think out of the box and turn its parastatal to cash cows”, insisting that Government is poised to raise revenue in the state.
Also speaking at the meeting, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Peter Ojo Stephen said all hands are on deck to reposition both the publishing and printing company as well as the Broadcasting Corporation, assuring the people of the state of government commitment to prioritize information dissemination as information is power.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the State Broadcasting Corporation, Mr Ojo Oyila, Managing Director of the Graphic newspapers, Pastor Dayo Thomas and other top management staff of the Ministry.
