Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has announced a N500,000 education support grant for Master Oluwi Oluseyi, a student from Mopamuro Local Government Area, who scored 337 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Fanwo made the announcement in Lokoja on Tuesday.

Describing Oluseyi’s performance as a testament to the spirit of excellence and brilliance synonymous with Mopamuro, the Commissioner lauded the student for bringing honour to the local government through academic excellence.

“This is what we are known for in Mopamuro: Brilliance and Excellence,” Fanwo stated. “Congratulations to you, my boy, as you have done us proud by ensuring that our local government is among the elites.”

Fanwo, who is also the founder of the Kingsley Fanwo Foundation, said the grant of N500,000 will be redeemable once Oluseyi’s admission letter is presented.

“On behalf of the KFF Foundation Family, I announce a donation of 500,000 naira to you, which will be redeemable immediately your admission letter is made available to me,” he said.

The Commissioner expressed pride in Oluseyi’s achievement, adding that his success exemplifies the positive direction Kogi youths should aspire to follow.

“Na wetin dey sweet my belle be this. This is the direction we want our young people to follow,” Fanwo said in a mix of English and Pidgin.

He concluded with a prayerful note, saying, “God bless you, boy!”
