Three of the biggest social media platforms in the world, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are currently experiencing major outage.
The outage began around 16.41 Nigerian time.
The three apps which are all owned by Facebook and run on shared infrastructure all stopped working abruptly.
On WhatsApp’s verified twitter account, the company said it is aware of the issue, saying the tech company is working to get things back up and running.
“We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!”
