Once in a lifetime, a generation is blessed with an iconic figure. In the time of war, he or she becomes the leading warrior. In the time of crisis, he or she becomes the moral voice. In the time when our state was at a crossroads – faced with imminent violence.

From an opposition that threatened bloodshed, and intolerance, he chose to be the sacrifice to avoid violence, strife, and who knows, what more.

In a state and a generation that has witnessed a dearth of heroes a simple farmer’s son become a beacon of hope.

When he uttered the now evergreen words that: “My political ambition is not worth the poverty of any Kogites”, a state on edge was saved.

He is not perfect, no man is. But in a nation so battered and bruised like ours, our former Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alh. Ibrahim Idris by one selfless and patriotic act, elevated himself into the pantheons of our state History.

I join my voice with my family, associates, supporters, and all patriotic Kogites to wish the father and architect of modern democracy in Kogi State, a well deserved Happy Birthday!

May the Lord’s blessings be upon you always. Above all, may our current leaders remember that as they got where they are now through the nobility of your actions. That their political ambitions is not worth the blood of any Kogite!

Happy Birthday, His Excellency, Dr. Alh Ibrahim Idris! Happy Birthday to you, worthy Son of Africa! Happy Birthday Architect of modern Kogi state democracy! Happy Birthday to a peace lover extraordinaire!

May God bless you Sir! And may the sacrifice you made so that we will have peace, never be in vain!
