Audu, who was spoke with journalists at his country home in Ogbonicha, Ofu local government area of the state yesterday, attributed the current insecurity, insurgency, kidnapping and other heinous crimes to unemployment, adding that concerted efforts must be made towards the eradication of the problem.
He said for the country to get it right, the government must find ways of reducing the alarming rate of unemployment, adding that the large chunk of graduates being turned out yearly must be adequately catered for.
On his ambition in the coming political dispensation, Audu stated that he had put everything in the hands of God. He said only the Almighty could decide his next line of action, stressing that nothing happens under the sun without the knowledge of God.
The former governor stated that his major preoccupation at the moment was to consolidate on the gains recently recorded by his party in the state, stressing the reception of some defecting prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was “heartwarming, fascinating and unprecedented.”
Reacting to the allegation that he was working for the PDP, Audu stated that he could resort to ‘primitive politics’ by fighting Governor Idris Wada.
He said he could not destroy a relationship that had been existing for close to 40 years because of politics.
The ex-governor described Wada as a friend and brother, adding he would not insult or blackmail him in the name of politics. He said that they belonged to different political parties, even as he had no intention of crossing over to the PDP.
