The planned state congresses of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) may not hold in Kogi State as the Elder Lanre Esan-led faction insist its tenure is yet to expire.
In a press statement, Esan affirmed that his faction has approached the Federal High Court, Abuja to challenge the proposed state congress of the party in Kogi state.
He claimed that his tenure as state chairman of the party will not end until September 2019.
The factional chairman described the imposition of Hon. James Faleke’s candidate as Kogi state party chairman by the national leadership of ADC as unconstitutional.
“It is popular knowledge that Faleke belongs to APC and currently representing Ikeja Federal constituency in Lagos state. However, his hidden ambition to return to Kogi state to participate in next guber election in the state has led him to engage in anti-party activities,” he said.
