The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zoe New Dawn Nigeria Limited, Engr. Stephen Achema Akpa, has disclosed that he is constructing a state-of-the-art hospital in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi state, with a firm commitment to providing completely free healthcare services to residents upon completion.
Speaking with newsmen on Sunday, Dr. Achema Akpa revealed that the hospital project has reached an advanced stage, with construction currently at 70 per cent completion.
He explained that the facility would be fully equipped with modern medical infrastructure, manned by qualified healthcare professionals, and stocked with essential medications—all to be provided at no cost to patients.
“I am building a state-of-the-art hospital in Ankpa Local Government Area. The facility will be fully equipped, fully functional, and all medications will be provided completely free of charge. The project is currently 70 per cent completed,” he stated.

A native of Ankpa Local Government Area, Dr. Akpa described the initiative as a personal commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for underserved communities, particularly rural and semi-urban populations that often face significant barriers to medical services due to cost and distance.
Beyond the hospital project, Engr. Akpa is widely recognised for his extensive philanthropic contributions across Kogi State and beyond. Over the years, he has supported education through scholarships and the provision of learning materials for indigent students, offered financial assistance to widows and vulnerable families, and facilitated skills-acquisition programmes aimed at youth empowerment and job creation.
His interventions have also included community development initiatives such as borehole water projects, support for religious and cultural institutions, and periodic humanitarian outreaches that deliver food items and essential supplies to low-income households.
Residents of Ankpa Local Government Area have welcomed the initiative with widespread commendation, describing the hospital project as a transformative intervention that will significantly ease the burden of medical expenses on families and greatly improve healthcare delivery in the area. Community stakeholders noted that the provision of free treatment and medication would be particularly beneficial to rural dwellers who often struggle to access quality medical services due to financial constraints.
