The sum of N150,000.00 was presented by Engr. George-Olumoroti Olusola to Mr. Oluhanmi Dare Emmanuel at his home in Iyah-Kabba to cover the cost of a very critical surgery that is required to complete his ongoing treatment from a gun shot wound he sustained during the student protest against the relocation of the Federal University away from Kabba to Lokoja.

Oluhanmi Dare Emmanuel is a young promising guy who believes in the development and growth of Kabba, which prompted his active participation in the agitation that lead to a peaceful protest  by Kabba Student Union (KSU) which was brutally crushed by the police; the crisis resulted in deaths of some members while others were critically wounded.

The case of Oluhanmi Dare Emmanuel particularly became pathetic because of the severe injury to his legs; the family has struggled to get him through stages of operations by selling their belongings and through borrowing; his case was brought to my notice about a month ago by one of the KSU exco in the person of Folashade Michael, who said the guy was due for the last surgery but due to lack of funds cannot go back to the hospital, and that if the surgery is not undertaken quickly the guy may never walk again.

It is so pathetic that although a lot of the so-called elected representatives visited, made pledges and took pictures, but all the promises made were unfulfilled; I think it is not fair to play politics with lives of our people. My appeal to all good people of this great forum is that whatever we can contribute as a support to help his family will go a long way to defray the heavy debt burden the family has incurred treating this patriotic owe son.
