The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Kogi East in the 2027 general elections, Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has reaffirmed his commitment to the sustainable development of Okaba community and a stronger partnership with its people, backing the pledge with a ₦10 million intervention.
Chief Erico made the announcement at the inauguration of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Okaba Community Development Association (OCDA) and a community fundraising event held in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The event drew prominent Okaba sons and daughters, traditional stakeholders and community leaders, who gathered to chart a strategic path toward sustainable development and civic infrastructure within Okaba land.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Erico said effective community building demands collective responsibility and grassroots engagement, stressing that his relationship with Okaba would outlast financial gestures.
“My commitment to Okaba goes beyond financial contributions. It is about establishing a lasting partnership rooted in unity, shared progress, and collective responsibility. By joining hands, we can systematically address critical infrastructure needs and drive meaningful development across Okaba and the entire Kogi East district,” he said.
Responding, the newly inaugurated President of the OCDA, Alhaji Usman Alfa, expressed deep gratitude to the senatorial candidate for what he described as his immediate response to the community’s developmental call.
“We are profoundly grateful to Chief Erico for his remarkable generosity. This ₦10 million intervention provides a crucial boost to our strategic execution plan. It demonstrates his sincere dedication to human capital development and community upliftment,” Alhaji Alfa stated.
The newly sworn-in OCDA leadership confirmed that the donated funds would be deployed toward priority development initiatives and key welfare programmes aimed at improving the living standards of the people of the community.
