The people of Igbagun, Yagba-East Local Government have commended Ambassador Olusola Enikanolaiye for facilitating the renovation of the Community School – Igbagun Secondary School with funds raised by his friends and development partners.
The school after the complete renovation has a beautiful look that is typical of a high class learning environment.
Ambassador Enikanolaiye also succeeded in getting the National Library of Nigeria in Abuja to donate some text books to the School.
Towards enhancing Sports development, Amb. Enikanolaiye and Wife had also visited and supplied top class soccer balls to the school and three private schools in Igbagun. The gesture was extended to secondary schools in Alu, Oranre as well as the two main secondary schools in Ife-Olukotun (Jammat and Wesley). All which he personally handed over to the school authorities.
Honorable Jimoh Musa Omiata, Member, Kogi State House of Assembly (Yagba-East constituency) lauded the efforts of the brilliant Ambassador, noting that “Education is the best legacy” and the value of giving back to the society by investing in education is immeasurable.
Reacting to the development, Ambassador Paul Fadumiyo, immediate past President of Okun Development Association (ODA) said; “I want to appreciate Ambassador Enikanolaye for this great feat. This is a voluntary service to the Community that is worthy of commendations and recognitions. May God replenish him in folds.”
“Let me also seize this opportunity to congratulate him on his retirement from the Civil Service after 35 years of unblemished meritorious service where he attained the position of Permanent-Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with an award of excellence service from President Mohammed Buhari.” He concluded.
Comrade Olusegun Sikiru who commented on the laudable project on Igbagun Development Initiatives WhatsApp platform, described Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a gifted intellect who has gotten an excellent mark by impacting Igbagun community positively.
“If you don’t grow your environment, you are limiting your own growth, I think this is his philosophy. He is a natural leader,” Comrade Sikiru said.
In his words, the Oba Elero of Igbagun kingdom, Chief Adebola Samuel Gaddaffi said; “We thank God for giving us a man with conscience at this crucial time in our developmental history”
“This humble, par excellence ambassador has done well by deciding to bear the cross of our future investment which is education. I say authoritatively with all sense of humility that he can choose to go on holidays with his God fearing wife at the expense of the project but here we are with the best structure around Yagba land”
“Our prayer is simple, May God grant him good health, long life and more favour from the system so that he can do more in our community and advance this to other communities in yagba” said Chief Adebola Samuel.
Ambasador Olusola Enikanolaiye was born in Igbagun, Yagba-East Local Government of Kogi State.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Foreign Service Officer in August 1982 after studying Political Science at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and graduated with First Class Honours in June, 1981. He completed his National Youth Service in Lagos in 1982.
In his diplomatic career, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye served in various capacities at home and abroad
Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in many of Nigeria’s diplomatic missions notably Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Belgrade (Serbia), Ottawa (Canada), London (UK) and New Delhi (India)
He is married to Mrs. Adunni Enikanolaiye (Nee Olorunnishola) and blessed with three girls and a boy.
