Elulu of Mopa and Chairman of the Mopamuro Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Muyiwa Ibeun, has commended the Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, for his efforts in implementing the blueprint of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on sustainable power supply in Nigeria.
In an appreciation letter issued by the traditional ruler and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday, the monarch commended Adelabu for ensuring that power was restored to Mopamuro in less than three months after his appointment and coronation as the Elulu of Mopa
The monarch noted that before his appointment as the Elulu of Mopa by Governor Usman Ododo, he had met with the Minister of Power.
“Before my appointment as the Elulu of Mopa, I visited the Minister of Power, Mr. Adelabu and we discussed intensively how power can be restored, supplied, and sustained in Mopamuro Local Government.
“I give kudos to the Minister for standing by his word, ensuring power is restored to Mopamuro in less than 3 months of my appointment and coronation as the Elulu of Mopa.
“Within these 3 months of my seating on the stool of my forefathers, the 132/33KV transmission station located at Okebukun near Kabba has received massive attention, following the effort of Hon. Leke Abejide and Hon. Salman Idris of Yagba and Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituencies, respectively,” he said.
The Elulu of Mopa stated that testimonies across the country, coming from electricity consumers, confirmed that power supply has not only been restored but sustained for longer hours.
“There is also information around that electricity facilities are being repaired, re-installed, and installed throughout the country to re-connect and connect dark areas to electricity grid,” he added.
The monarch also appreciated the Kabba Area Manager of Abuja Electricity Development Company (AEDC) and his office for their willingness and zeal to deliver their duty, thereby reconnecting Mopamuro.
He expressed gratitude to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration for holding the bull by the horn to make Nigeria great again, and called on Nigerians to support the government and her agencies to deliver the Renewed Hope Agenda for the good of the people.
