Those who are contesting for the traditional stool of late Ejeh of Ankpa, Alhaji Amodu Yakubu Adaji have been urged to follow the procedures of attaining the throne strictly for the continuous peace and unity of the area.
The Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Elder Simon Achuba gave the advice at a courtesy call on the palace of Ejeh of Ankpa as part of the decamping ceremony of over members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties that defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ankpa on Saturday.
He said the present administration of the state will ensure that the standard of the traditional stool is maintained and the right person given the opportunity to ascend the throne.
He commiserated with the family of the late Ejeh and urged the people of Ankpa to continue to live in peace and harmony for the good of the people.
The Deputy Governor who earlier said they were at the palace, as a tradition to receive royal blessings, commended the royal fathers for keeping the people together in peace and love, urging them to maintain the tempo.
He further assured the people that Ankpa road would be given a priority in Yahaya Bello’s administration, urging the people to continue their support for the government.
Speaking, the administrator of Ankpa local government, Hon. Mohammed Ibrahim said he is in good working relationship with the traditional rulers in the area, thanking them for the support given to the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello of the state.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the Governor to complete the road projects he started in the area, while commending him for the various political appointment given to the people in the area.
Earlier, the Acting Ejeh of Ankpa, Alhaji Shuaibu Usman described the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello as a no-nonsense administration that focused on the development of the people and the state.
He said the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello has respect for traditional and religious institutions, while pledging the support of the people for the government.
