National Mirror gathered that those who lost their lives include a male child, four women and three men who were travelling from Okene to Kano where they had gone to buy some goods.
The accident which occurred at about 6.00am in the morning at Ohono village near Koton Karfe involved a white Toyota passenger bus and a truck with registration number Lagos EKY 244 XG.
The Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Mr Godwin Omiko who disclosed this to journalists, stated that the truck was coming on a high speed when the passenger bus with registration number Kogi XB 641 LKJ coming from Abuja end of the road collided with it, killing eight people on the spot.
He said the dead victims included the driver and seven other occupants of the bus and blamed the accident on human error.
