Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging citizens to embrace peace, sacrifice, and love for one another.

In a Sallah message released on Wednesday the Director, Yahaya Bello Media Office, Ohiare Michael, the former governor described Eid-el-Kabir as a solemn period that reflects the virtues of faith, obedience, humility, and total submission to the will of Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

Bello called on Muslim faithful to sustain the spirit of sacrifice and compassion beyond the festive season, stressing the need for unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.

“As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, we must continue to uphold the values of sacrifice, tolerance, and kindness. These virtues are essential in building a stronger, united, and more peaceful society,” he said.

The former governor also extended his greetings to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praying for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance in the task of leading the nation toward greater progress and stability.

According to Bello, Nigerians must continue to pray for the unity and prosperity of the country while supporting one another, especially the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.

He noted that the significance of Eid-el-Kabir goes beyond celebration, adding that it serves as a reminder of the importance of selflessness, patience, and unwavering faith in God.

“Let us use this period to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, promote peaceful coexistence, and extend love to those around us. Nigeria can only prosper when we work together in unity and sincerity,” Bello stated.

He wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyful, and memorable Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
