The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi state chapter, has congratulated Muslims in the state on the completion of a month long Ramadan fast.

In a statement issued by its Director Media and Communication, Comrade Dayo Onibiyo, in Lokoja on Monday, rejoiced with Muslims on the celebration of this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.

The party called on Muslims to cry to Allah to put an end to the pains of citizens and residents of Kogi state who “have been tormented in the last six years.”

Onibiyo said fervent prayers to Allah will guarantee better celebrations in future, under a more people-oriented government.

“There can’t be a better time than now to cry unto God Almighty to do the needful, having successfully completed the holy month of Ramadan which most people went through with uncertainties of what next to eat, while the insensitive APC goes around paying hundreds of millions of naira to buy forms at the expense of Nigerians who are dying daily.

“It is not just a rude shock but an embarrassment that a Governor that was broke before coming to government and could still not pay workers salary as at when due, went ahead to buy a form worth N100m. Some of his commissioners and aides too are buying forms in millions of Naira.

“We call on all Kogi sons and daughters to rise and ask them where they have gotten such millions they are spending on nomination forms. These millions are the not the end to what they will spend, since they will still cough out more for the primaries and of course at the general elections, thereby plunging the state more into further unnecessary debts.

“It is our prayer as a party that Allah will guide and guard us all through the celebrations and give us the remembrance needed to remove this pain called APC come 2023.

“We pray that this celebrations will go on in peace and enjoin everyone to be law abiding and enjoy the spirit of the celebrations,” the statement said.
