Edward Onoja’s Penchant for Gutter Conversation

There is no mental exercise that is as stimulating, impactful and greatly rewarding like engaging in decent conversations with individuals who deploy pristine intelligence, panache, ingenuity, wisdom and civility to present their perspectives on issues. There is a whole lot to gain when people of diverse backgrounds share insights through informed commentaries on issues of commoncore general interest.

As interested as I could get about public debates, a major put off for me is when debaters choose to become unruly, uncivil, crude and arrogantly or ignorantly opinionated. For me, a debate loses its steam, relevance and usefulness the moment people begin to malign and attack each other’s personality rather than focus on issues. Debates thrive on verifiable facts and figures, and one’s ability to deploy common sense without resorting to bile, insults and gutter language.

I’ve really engaged, debated and held serious conversations with people of like and even unlike minds, but none of such debates ever prepared me for Edward Onoja’s cystic, caustic and unrefined commentaries, especially in the heat of arguments. He becomes beastly, arrogant, roguish, thuggish and unbearably mannerless the moment he discovers that his opponents superior arguments or averments have exposed his clay feet. Edward Onoja clearly lacks the needed intellectual strength and stamina to engage in civil debates, hence his quick resort to dirty and piggy wordsmithing.

How a man of his age and status hardly sees anything wrong in sounding like a moto park tout still amazes me. I’ve never seen a man as crude, vulgar, petty, brutish, temperamental and utterly senseless like Edward. I’ve read and seen some nasty and shameful public comments attributed to Edward Onoja. As usual, whenever he feels challenged or encounters a more hot-headed or brainy person, he gets edgy, deflated, defeated, and like an untamed lion, loses his cool and the outcome an oral diarrhea without limit.

In serious and civilized climes where public offices aren’t meant for undesirable elements, someone of Edward’s classlessness  can’t be considered for the job of a janitor. To add salt to injury, this same individual who is everything but civil and honest has just been picked as Governor Yahaya Bello’s running mate in the forthcoming November 16th governorship election.

It is laughable to pick a man who revels in infantile conducts and feels comfortable engaging in needless spats on social media as running mate. Edward lacks what it takes to occupy such an exalted office. Edward is a disaster waiting to happen. A man that easily gets emotional on issues that require critical and reflective thinking is not worth the title of a leader; even of the hirelings scavenging around him. Edward has so desecrated the office he presently occupies that he shouldn’t have been considered for something as serious and sensitive as the office of the deputy governor.

Only recently, the social media was awash with screenshots and pornographic contents harvested from Edward Onoja’s social media account when his personal Facebook account was compromised. In my entire life, I have never seen conversation as dirty, demeaning and corruptive as found in his inbox.

All the atrocious acts he engages in with young school girls, divorcees, female government appointees and prostitutes trended on social media for weeks. Also harvested from his decayed inbox was litany of directives issued to his errand boys to attack people who speak the truth about the serial misadventures and misadministration of the Bello government.

For a man with such an oozing baggage, one expects him to be a bit remorseful and withdrawn, sadly, he goes about beating his chest and bragging about his ‘achievements’. Edward exhibits traits that bring the office he occupies into disrepute. I’ve lost count of the number of whatsapp groups where the administrators had to remove him from their midst owing to the bile he emits each time he gets into heated debates with others. He uses words and adjectives that keep people wondering if he was normal.

He doesn’t give a hoot about his embarrassing conducts at all, and never pretends about his inability to act or behave like a normal human being. I know for a fact that Edward needs some help, particularly as it relates to his sanity. No sane man or woman does the kinds of abominable things that he engages in.

I have personally tolerated Edward’s pettiness and unruly behaviour over the years. Attacking my person has become his past time because he sees me as a threat to be crushed and obliterated from the political scene. Like I’ve always maintained, I bear no grudge against Edward, and have no personal scores to settle with him. I have refused to follow him to the gutter, no matter the provocation.

There is hardly any derogatory word that Edward hasn’t used to describe me. The point I nearly lost my cool completely was when he insulted my BIOLOGICAL MOTHER. Apart from speaking sense into his head, I thought him some lessons on how to be civil. But like Michelle Obama admonished, “When they go low, go high”. It is a misnomer to wrestle with a pig in the mud. The best thing to do is to simply walk away.

Indeed, the days ahead will be interesting, as more sordid revelations on the disreputable and sleazy activities of Edward Onoja would be made public especially in the light of his Freudian slip: To takeover from Bello in the event on the very unlikely. Kogi state deserves better and we cannot for any reason allow a man with no pedigree, class and intellectual resource preside over our affairs as citizens. It is an open secret that the ills and corrupt practices that are linked to Bello’s government are planned, arranged and executed by Edward Onoja who is quick to boast that he is so smart to leave traces.
