Good governmental fortune for the first time in history fell on Ogugu people on Christmas eve as all items needed to celebrate this yuletide were distributed to them by the Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Edward Onoja.
All the Communities in Ogugu district in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi were made to celebrate this Christmas with succour by their own son in the state government, Onoja, who distributed clothes and food stuff to virtually everybody in the communities across the district.
The items distributed were rappers and shoes for the rural women. Other textile materials with masculine textures were also given out to the men. All the items, especially rice which were shared in all the polling units in the district were added with seasoning and vegetable oil.
Children were not left out as pairs of moccasins, canvass, trousers, T-shirts, skirts and blouses were distributed amongst them.
Mary Isah, 63, one of the beneficiaries, who was delighted with the Christmas gift, said Onoja is their own chosen messiah by God. “Our own Jesus is Edward. I can’t remember the last time I celebrated Christmas with many goodies like these.
“In a short while, the young man brought portable water to our communities,” in tears she continues, “Edward is a son that knows where he is coming from. He is a worthy son that knows the pains of his parents.
“He will continue to grow from strength to strength, and here in Ogugu, his principal, Alhaji Yahaya Bello would not need to campaign in 2019,” the sexagenarian said.
This year’s yuletide in Ogugu actually began in the Onojas’ compound; it became a mecca of sort for people of different ages who trooped in to collect their Christmas gift from their kind-hearted son of the soil.
Earlier, the Chief Of Staff donated a brand new Sienna Buss to Ogugu Youth Development Association. According to him “this bus is to enable the association to run well. He said Association in their own quota has contributed to the development of Ogugu”
Brand new 406 and ford cars were also donated to community leaders in Ogugu by Edward Onoja.
