Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has described the Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Edward Onoja as a man of many parts and a model for excellence in leadership.
In the statement issued in Lokoja on Monday to felicitate Onoja on his 47th birthday, Ohere said, “my relationship with him among other things has fostered the productive thinking of our principal, Governor Yahaya Bello, who has been variously described as a unifier. Indeed, he formed this formidable team and ably being deputized by Dr. Edward Onoja who has also been very consistent in the drive towards a new and unified Kogi state.”
Ohere added that Onoja’s foremost attribute is his piety as a God-fearing Christian.
“I guess this is the foundation of most of his other personal traits. He respects individuals in their own capacity, places great value on relationships, allows access to even the distant associate. He values goodwill and loyalty in his relationships.
“He is meticulous, intelligent and a passionate workaholic, a man of balanced cognate experience in both the private and public sectors and a thoroughbred technocrat. He is so consistent in his drive, yet you will find him as humble as they come.
Your Excellency, you have continued to assist our leader Governor Yahaya Bello to advance the frontiers and “promotion of the common good, the uplift of Kogi State and the construction of enduring bridges and platforms of peace and security in our dear state.
“It is no gainsay that your wealth of erudition and experience in public service has to a large extent rub off on the wellbeing of the state, in your capacity as the Deputy Governor. Without mincing words, you are one of Kogi ’ life savers, a technocrat par excellence. Your immense contributions to achieving a better and smarter Kogi state cannot be best quantified in words.
“On a day like this, I join your family, colleagues, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you in the past years of a life of forthrightness, outstanding patriotism and service to humanity with which he has blessed you.” Happy birthday your Excellency, may the good lord you are serving continue to guide and protect you and your family,” the statement said
