Ebira Carnival is a Celebration of Our Cultural Identity and Heritage – Okene Administrator

The Chief Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has described the 8th Ebira carnival as a means of showcasing our cultural identity and tourist sites to the outside world. This he said has enabled the younger generations and other tribes appreciate Ebira cultural heritage and values.

Engr. Abdulrazaq stated this at a reception organised to crown activities of this year’s celebration of Ebira cultural Carnival in Okene.

The Council boss who led large crowd of Okene Local Government contingents and cultural troops on the carnival possession also dressed in full ebira cultural attire to the admiration of visitors and tourists who had gathered to get a glimpse of the much celebrated carnival.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the program, Hon. Abdulrazaq expressed satisfaction on the number of people and visitors that graced this year’s carnival and maintained that, the Omi -Hills at Inozomi where natural, clean and chilled spring water flows all year round, siren and relaxing site at Usugwe, Itinochi fabric which is second to none in terms of quality, delicious ebira foods and scintillating dancing steps from our cultural troops were some of the achievements of the carnival which remain our heritage and pride.

While expressing his immense gratitude to the governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello for his support and the enabling environment to successfully stage the cultural carnival, Hon. Abdulrazaq thanked all sons and daughters from Okene Local Government for coming out in their large numbers to give the carnival a colourful outlook and making the end of the year cultural program a huge success.

The Council Chairman maintained that, Okene Local Government will continue to partner with the organisers of this unique cultural activities to discover more tourist sites which when harnessed, will help generate more internal revenue, boast the economy of Ebiraland and provide direct and indirect jobs to the people.
