If everyday was to be festivals, of course we wouldn’t have attached value to any festivity not to talk of the significance. Perhaps why festivities don’t occur as often as we would have wished.
It is worthy to note that unlike other festivities, the period of Easter calls sobber and reflection for the significance of it is love and sacrifice. The death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary as documented in Christian myths and legends means a lot to both Christians and not Christians alike.
Whereas both Christianity and Islam preaches love and kindness, people have out of self serving intension capitalize on religion to spread hate and evil anchored on selfish perspectives but the time to revolt against this decadence has come.
Therefore, let the celebration go beyond exchange of pleasantries and food. Peaceful coexistence is the major panacea to socioeconomic development and it must be upheld. I sincere and passionately congratulate my Christian brethren all over the world and most particularly, the good people of Ankpa 2 constituency. May God accept all the prayers of our heart and the meditations of our tongue (amen).
