Prince Matthew James, Okehi Local Government Secretary, has called on Christians to embrace peace.

In his Easter message on Sunday, Hon Matthew explained that “the message of this moment is that of sacrifice, hope and service to humanity”

The message read:

“I, Hon. ( Prince) Matthew James, Okehi Local Government Secretary wish to rejoice with Christians and the people of Okehi Local Government on this special day as we celebrate the 2024 Easter.

“As we rejoice today, let us all embrace peace, connect with our community positively and sacrifice for progress of our society.”

The Council Scribe urged Christians to use the period to pray to God and seek for forgiveness especially during this trying time in our dear country.

He, however, encouraged Kogites to be hopeful, believing that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. While noting the success recorded by the government of APC in the state so far ushered in by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

He also urged residents, particularly Christian faithfuls, to remain calm, maintain peaceful coexistence, exhibit love and practice selflessness as these are what Easter is all about and enjoined them to celebrate with modesty and shun any act that can further jeopardize the relative peace in the Council Area and beyond.

Hon. Matthew James Omeiza further used the occasion to felicitate the State Governor, Okehi council boss, Hon Amoka Monday Odu, leaders of his party in state and the loving people of Okehi local government.

He also prayed that the Lord will hear and answer all prayers and reward with everything that we ask for and shower upon us the blessings from the heavens above.
