For umpteenth time, I have cried aloud soliciting for someone different from the usual loyalist and party worshipers, knowing pretty well that antidotes to the current political illness is no longer with the familiarized. When i was acquainted with Dr Victor Adoji’s senatorial aspiration. I carefully appraised his profiles and knew instantly he was the messiah I have preached about.
However, I am not unaware of possible complicity by desperate power seekers. Like the end time struggles, i know they will kick and probably go the extra mile to keep oppression on the fore. Surprisingly, my presumption is unfolding accordingly. The recent turn out, of events in the people’s Democratic Party is one of such presumptions. After extorting money from legislative aspirants in the name of nomination forms, they gave out their platform to the incumbent legislators automatically. Well, the weighty injustices been meted is on cause. But i must applaud the Youths who have refused to be weary perhaps, bought into this movements. It indicates that behind the media insinuations of candidates been enthroned by the people is untainted reality the world can’t wait to know. They know what they actually want but greed and self conceits have continuously denied them the means.

The saying goes, “If you would take a man’s life, you owe it to him to look into his eyes and hear his final words. If you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the man does not deserve to die.”

DVAA movement is an idea whose time has come. The movement would bring to an abrupt end, sycophancy, politicking and economic downturn currently rocking the system. A quick look at his political stamina will convince one that he is destined to champion the people’s cause. A Yoruba guy wrote on his social media page; “I don’t know this man but his campaign style shows he has something to deliver. Besides, this is the first time an aspirant will come up with a mantra totally different from the usual but never manifested road construction, free meal to students, employment, five thousand Naira stipends, drilling of boreholes and provision of transformer. Its so tragic that we live with a gold but never recognize it.
I engaged in a conversation about the possible dimension of government in 2019. After series of argument, i made my stance known that needs are apposite for integrity-driven candidature at the helm of affairs. But one statement i may not forget in a hurry is that of a senior colleague – Integrity is dead and buried in Nigeria. Although i didn’t concur in totality but i think the ongoing political malpractices is not far fetched. Our willingness to accept responsibility and unite for common purposes is trashed by the ME, MYSELF and I syndrome. It is not relevant to us no matter how detrimental an action may seem, as long as it patronizes our wish. Government of the day only favor few and their cronies. Those with genuine desire to change the narrative through a transparent and accountable representation are denied the access.

It is a known fact that the sitting senator is simply an unwanted product. Therefore, the only available option was to manipulate his way through the entire process of a vote comprising of less than 2000 delegates. Also, the fear of loosing the Senatorial ticket to the grass-root anointed candidate (Dr Victor Adoji) was also a major factor. Few days before the supposed primaries, there was an uproar from Aidoko’s camp following the endorsement of Dr Victor Adoji by the former governors ( Ibrahim Idris and Wada his in-law). Notwithstanding, the endorsement spree did not cease. A prominent Bassa monarch threw in his support. It is on public domain that DVAA’s endorsement by Agumma of Bassa brought to an end the perceived rift between Igala/Bassa indigens over the choice of senatorial candidate. Initially, some analysts argued that his popularity is not weighty enough for such audience. But for his justifiable humanitarian homework. There were calls from notable youth leaders from Bassa to Adoji to lunch his campaign movement long before it took off. Moreover, PDP Kogi state rejuvenated as a result of the movement.

Another bullet Aidoko worked so hard to dodge was the social media. The movement held sway of it in the sense that, an average facebook user from Kogi east has Victor’s photograph on his/her DP.
These among other things, portrayed his senatorial ambition as sacred sacrifices Igala/Bassa must perform to recalibrate Kogi eastern political hemisphere. But the situation at the moment indicates that, the pit where justice was buried is hundred fits beneath the earth. Moreover, injustice has not only surfaced. It has dominated the heart of men. The said senator would never toil for votes. Even while in the senate, he is not accountable to anybody. To him, elective positions are meant for those with broad financial capacity. What an abuse of democratic ethics and judgement? The said money bag politics, we all know that Aidoko’s area of concentration is Nigeria judiciary and the delude jingoist otherwise known as party delegates who sees money as alternative non.
Be that as it may. I am certain that 2019 would forever remain indelible in Aidoko’s political memory. His failure, even the judiciary would be helpless. Any delegate or official who attempt to rig in his favor will be thrown at the mercy of justice. This is because, he has the following factors to contend with;
1- THE MASSES: They are politically enlightened much more than previous expectations. So without mincing words, they already know what they want. I wonder what magic Aidoko would use to buy their vote this time.

2- APC FACTOR: It’s needless to say that Echocho is also the people’s candidate. But his stains has been CONFUSION and worst still, his treaty with the government in power.

Aside the fact that PDP Kogi had dug it’s grave and buried itself, i think the people might be forced to understand the political different between six and half a dozen if the wrangling wave is not undo.

While I would not hesitate to congratulate Aidoko on the Kangaroo arrangement that stripped every other aspirants of the ticket. I think the task ahead is more alarming. But as concern citizen i will throw my support behind him if he eventually scaled through. For now, I am at a corner laughing and filling my ink to tell the remaining story.
God Bless Kogi East.
