Dr Idris Omede Applauds PAAU Vice Chancellor’s Progressive Achievements

A former Kogi State Commissioner of Health, Kogi state, Dr. Idris Omede, has praised the progressive achievements of the Vice Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman.

He gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor in Anyigba on Tuesday.

He congratulated Prof. Usman on his current appointment as Vice Chancellor of the university, and wished him success in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Dr. Omede, a former President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), noted that since his debut in the leadership of tertiary institutions in the state, as the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja from where he became the current Vice Chancellor of PAAU, Prof. Usman has epitomized exemplary leadership, scholarly dedication, commitment to advancement of educational excellence, inspiring students, academic and nonacademic staff to excel in their roles and responsibilities.

He recalled how he once served as an academic staff in the same university and called on the VC to ensure that the College of Medicine of the University maintains its ongoing trajectory in human resource and infrastructural development to meet standards, while not neglecting other faculties of the institution.

He wished the university adequate and balanced resources to continually carry out its mandate.

Dr. Omede noted that Professor Usman’s outstanding service in the academic community reflects the values of hard work, integrity, and patriotism. He expressed confidence that the professor would continue to make meaningful contributions to the growth and transformation of higher education in the country.

In his response, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman expressed gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Idris Omede for the visit and for his kind words of encouragement.

He acknowledged that Dr Idris Omede has stands out and maintain his mien and reach out for good in and out of public office.

The Vice Chancellor recalled Dr Omede’s commitment to service, interaction and building relationship across board since his days as a commissioner in the state and as President of Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), making giant strides for the association visibility and high level advocacy.

“Your calm disposition and soft spokeness are unique,” he said.

The VC called on Dr Omede to remain positively and progressively consistent, align with the government of Kogi state and the ruling party to continue to contribute his quota to state and national discuss and developments.

The VC reaffirmed his commitment to promote academic excellence, mentorship and research that will impact positively to the students of the university and the society.
