Dr. Alih Bags ‘Most Ethical Legislator’ Award

Against the background of quality representative and passion to serve his constituents, the member representing Ofu constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Friday Alih has been conferred with Ambassador of Ethics and Conscience award.
Conferring the Award on the lawmaker by Centre for Ethics and self Value Orientation in Lokoja, the Executive Director of the Centre, Prince Sani Isah Yakubu said the assessment of the organization was based on the performance of the lawmaker in innovative leadership and ethical conduct.
Prince Yakubu described Alih as the finest character in the 6th Legislature of Kogi State House of Assembly in terms of transparency and meeting up to ethical assessment and appraisal of the organization. He pointed out that the lawmaker has been serving his people with good conscience and commitment to the growth and development of his constituency.
According to him, other criteria used in assessing the lawmaker include public accessibility,time management skills and commitment to community development.
The executive director described him as a true gentleman, humble and charged other lawmakers at the State and National Assemblies to emulate the exemplary leadership skills of the lawmaker.
In his response, Dr. Alih said that the award would spur him to be more committed to the service of his people adding that he was only carrying out his legislative duties with good conscience bearing in mind that his desire to be a good Ambassador of his people and pointed out that he never knew that some were assessing him secretly.
