They have been acting like a child that knows nothing except to eat, drink and play all day. They took over the street of Okene II constituency rejoicing over a fake victory after when they have declare their self the winner in the last Kogi State House of Assembly election which took place early this year.
They believe that electoral victory ends at the polling units, that’s why they choose to use the only political knowledge and power given to them by their god in the Lugard House. With the aid of thuggery, security agencies, and the support of some political appointees to the state government in the constituency, the election was successfully disrupted and they thought that will marked the success of their journey; every minute, hour, day and night they were busy celebrating a fake victory, a victory that was pivoted by failure, a victory that was on the path of lost and doom.
They almost turned every street of Okene II into into the street of Afghanistan where the shots and the sound of gun and banger was the common available musical instrument, as they were celebrating their failed customize victory until the were served a letter from the tribunal.
Ever since the commencement of the pre-hearing of the tribunal, the street of Okene II was dump to be silent as a grave yard, as the All Progressive Party, APC lost the appetite for rejoicing and celebrating.
With the almighty initiation of the Nigeria constitution, section 285(2); as stated thus; “There shall be established in each of the federation one or more election tribunal to be known as the governorship and Legislative Houses Election Tribunals which shall, to the exclusive of any court or tribunal, have original jurisdiction to hear and determine petition as to whether any person have been validly elected to the office of governor or deputy or as a member of any legislative house.” This is the single clarification which they consigned to oblivion.
It is expected of them to turn the entire constituency into a stadium or a stage of entertainment as the inauguration has been put to past, but their sudden break into silence signify the smell of difficulty at the previous sittings at the tribunal.It is obvious, that the dog who is good in barking can not maintain a good bite or does not have the effective skills of fighting.
Hon. Sanni Salau Ogembe does not have political thugs to fight on the election day but he have the judicial strength to face the oppressor.
I wish to use this opportunity to address the good people of Okene II constituency who believe in the positive outcome of this our political journey that we will go to any length to see justice is been done. Hon. Sanni Salau Ogembe is the people’s choice and a choice for Okene II constituency.
