Dekina NULGE Lauds Kogi Govt on Workers’ Screening

Executive members of the Dekina chapter of Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has applauded the the screening exercise of the present government.

The NULGE leaders made this known during a meeting with the Chief Administrator of Dekina Local Government Area, Honourable Kabiru Idris in his office.

The NULGE executives made a case for some of their members who are yet to be paid salaries.

Hon. Kabiru said that the meeting was supposed to be held before this time, but the demand of the Screening Exercise was enormous thereby leaving limited time for him.

 

Hon. Kabiru admonished the NULGE executives to pass his message across to their members that the present
government does not, and will not tolerate truancy and apathy to work.

He said that Governor Yahaya Bello has instructed them to keep a time-log in every department to make sure every worker comes to work daily as well as timely. He said that the era of redundancy in civil service is over.

He further reiterate the commitment of the present government to rid the civil service of ghost workers to enable
government to pay salaries promptly and fully to genuine staff, and to also be able to execute projects.

Kabiru also directed the Union leaders to notify that going forward, every worker must go to wherever they are posted to stressing that they will not condone the situation where some schools or health centres will be overstaffed while others are understaffed because some workers do not want to move.

The Union leaders promised of informing their members of this latest developments.
