My good people of Okura State Constituency, it is in line with our tradition that when you send a child on an errand, in due time the child is expected to return to give feedback on how the message was delivered. While embarking on the errands to the State House of Assembly as a Legislator, his primary responsibility is to make laws and draw attention of the Executive to the needs of our constituency, he has decided to overlap the boundaries into the active role of directly bringing solutions to the immediate need of our people.
It is in line with the above assertion that Rotaract Honourable Hassan Baiwa Abdullahi, a member representing the good people of Okura Constituency and also the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, have decided to execute the listed projects.
Rural Electrification
Rt. Hon. Abdullahi is a member from a rural community hence rural electrification has always been one of the cardinal objective of his services. He donated 300/33KVA transformers to Anwoku Area 2, and Ojuwo area of Anyigba, Ochaja town Dekina Local Government of the State.
Health Care
Rt. Hon. Abdullahi believes in the philosophy that ‘health is wealth’. As such he has committed a lot of resources to health programme in his constituency with the construction and furnished of Health Care Clinic at Okura Sawmill and completion of Egboje Clinic.
Water Supply
Conscious of the saying that “water is life” Rt. Hon. Abdullahi has been paying top priority attention to the supply of portable water to the people of Okura constituency.
An important step taken to address this issue is the construction of boreholes at the following places;
  • Ewune – Egume Ward
  • Alade Egume – Egume Ward
  • Efakwu Egume – Egume Ward
  • Egboje – Egume Ward
  • Okura Ward
  • Okagwu – Ojikpadala Ward
  • Omedo2 – Anyigba Ward
  • Agala Ogane – Anyigba Ward
  • Offuloko – Anyigba Ward
  • Agbenema – Anyigba Ward
  • Ongoing constructions include
  • Obeya Kekele – Anyigba Ward
  • Angwa Muslimi – Anyigba Ward
  • Egume Town – Egume Ward
  • While Agwudoko and Obeyalile boreholes both in Anyigba Community were rehabilitated.
Employment/Empowerment
Based on the vital contributions of youth to the socio-economic development of the society, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi has pursued the employment of youths into various Federal ministries and parastatals.
Procurement of Hundred (100) enrolment Forms into the Nigeria Peace Corps.
He also made it possible for his constituency members to embark upon small scale business. He gave out recommendation letters for admissions, contract and employment’s to the people of his constituency.
Reasonable numbers of people from his constituency are fulfilled today as a result of his service for humanity.
Rt. Hon. Abdullahi believes in the sayings: “Teach a man how to fish, so that he can fish for himself forever”.
The following items were given to over five hundred people of his constituency for the purpose of sustainability and self empowerment.
  • 4 Tricycle Machine (Keke NAPEP)
  • 100 sewing Machine for trained tailors.
  • 30 set of Hair Dryer, wash basins and 30 Generating sets
  • 20 Clippers and Generating set for trained Barbers
  • 20 Ovens for trained bakers
  • 10 Cameras for trained Photographers
  • 20 Clutches and wheel Chairs were given to disable people
  • 30 Gridding Engine for widows
  • 10 Car washing Machines were given to various groups to start up business.
  • 20 sets of Make-up Kits for trained Makeup Artist.
  • 2 set of shoe making Machines for trained Shoemakers.
  • 2 set of vulcanising Machines for trained vulcanizers.
  • 2 Motorcycle for Disables
  • 10 sets of Mechanic Tool boxes for trained Mechanics.
  • N10,000:00 each for 100 trained Cosmetologist and Videography.
  • 23 people were also trained and empowered on paint productions.
  • 29 trained Textile Design were empowered with 10,000:00 each.
  • 29 people were trained and empowered in Bread Making and Wireworks.
  • 53 people were trained and empowered for Baking and catering services.
  • N10,000:00 for 50 widows each from Anyigba, Egume, Ojikpadala and Okura ward to kick start small scale business.
Education
Education is one of the sectors that Rt. Hon. Abdullahi gave priority attention in view of its importance to the future of the people of his constituency.
  • Rehabilitation of Administrative block at Community Secondary Commercial College Anyigba.
  • Construction of Examination Hall and Laboratory Hall at Community Secondary Schoo, Agala-Ate.
  • Provision of 500 Classroom desks with seats for Primary Schools.
  • Five Hundred (500) JAMB forms in 2017 and a hundred (100) forms in 2018 due to ongoing projects.
  • Ten Thousand (10,000) Note Books to be distributed to all schools within the Constituency.
  • Fifty Students Registered to sit for WEST AFRICAN EXAMINATION COUNCIL (WAEC/NECO) exams
  • And he has commenced the ESTABLISHMENT OF ACHARU COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL to bring college education closer to the people.
Roads
In fulfillment of his electoral promises, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi embarked on grading of the following roads in his constituency;
  • Okura to Ewune Road
  • Ewune to Okakwu both of Okura Constituency in Dekina LGA of Kogi State.
Motions
There were several motions raised in the House some of which are:
  • Calling on the State Government to address the Erosion Menace in Ogane Aji and Kaduna Efekpe. The State is already addressing that through NEWMAP.
  • Construction of Anyigba Township Road.
  • Dualization of road from Anyigba roundabout to KSU main gate.
  • Dualization of road from Iyale Round about to Eti-Ukpolo contract already awarded,  awaiting mobilization.
  • Called on the State Government to Codify laws made in KSHA
  • Called on the Ministry of Environment to checkmate the Activities of Sanitary Officers. Our resolution in this regard gave birth to A BILL on Waste Management.
  • He also Called on the Ministry of Works, Land and Urban Development to check the activities of Town planning department and also to empower it to carry out its functions effectively and there’s also a BILL to that effect and so many more.
  • He further called on the state government to established youth empowerment center across all the Local Government Area of the state.
Finally, I must not fail to mention also other supports rendered to our constituents at various times such as payment of hospital bills, burial, wedding, naming assistance and several other family supports which happens almost on a daily basis.
With this and many more Rt. Hon Hassan Baiwa Abdullahi is availing himself for the good people of Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency to represent them at the Green Chamber of National Assemble.
Support him to enhance more employment
Support him to empower more youth, women and widows.
Support him for portable drinkable water.
