Crowther Old Student Visit Governor Bello, Other Dignitaries as Part of Reunion Programme

The leadership of Crowther Memorial College Lokoja  Old Students Association has paid a courtesy visit on the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as part of activities to mark their mega reunion.
They were led on the visit by the National President, Colonel Yomi Dare (rtd).
Speaking, the Governor expressed gratitude to the body for finding time to visit him and also finding him worthy to be named an honorary alumnus of the institution.
He expressed pleasure on the caliber of characters produced by the college over the years, most of whom have gone on to become notable people locally, nationally and even at the global stage.
The Governor used the occasion to, in response the requests of the National President, inform the public of his administration’s decision to reserve fifteen percent of the state’s 2019 Budget for education because of the love his government has for the sector.
Bello expressed pleasure that quite a number of those currently serving in government were products of the institution, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Matthew Kolawole; the Head of the State Civil Service, Mrs Deborah Ogunmola, among others who have been meritorious in service.
The National President of Crowther Old Students Association, Colonel Yomi Dare had earlier intimated the governor of the essence of the reunion and appealed for a look in for the college from government.
He then praised the administration of Governor Bello for its demonstration of love for the educational sector since inception.
The President had earlier paid similar visits on the Arch Bishop of Lokoja Anglican Diocese, His Eminence, Emmanuel Egbunu; the Maigari of Lokoja and the Ohimege – Igu, their Royal Majesties, Dr Muhammad Kabiru Maikarfi III and Alhaji Abdulrazak Isah Koto, as well as some orphanages within Lokoja as part of the event.
