Chairman, United Labour Congress (ULC), Kogi State council, Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo Simeon has called on the state government to close down all institutions of learning temporarily in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement issued in Lokoja on Friday, Opaluwa urged Kogi government to join other states in Nigeria that have taken precautionary steps by enforcing social distance.

He called on the state government to set up isolation camps in all local governments.

“The Coronavirus disease is here with us. In as much as we are not praying for the outbreak in Kogi, I think that only one isolation center in the state capital is not enough. It should be opened in all the local government areas in the state.

“I urge that all schools in the state be closed temporarily for now,” he said.
