Court Adjourns Achuba’s Suit Against Kogi Govt to January 2020

The National Industrial Court, Abuja on Thursday adjourned hearing in the application brought by Elder Simon Achuba over his withheld statutory allocations which includes imprest, allowances and other benefits to 13th and 14th January,  2020.

Elder Achuba had asked the court to order the state government to pay up his withheld statutory allocations and other entitlements due to him as the state Deputy Governor.

The hearing was slated for Thursday but was adjourned to January 13 and 14 as the Judges would soon proceed on Christmas break.

Meanwhile, the suit challenging the purported impeachment of Elder Simon Achuba as the state Deputy Governor was adjourned to 3rd December, 2019 for adoption of originating summon and the process filed.

The suit was slated for Thursday but adjourned to December 3rd after the entertainment of the process filed by Elder Achuba’s Lawyer, J S Okutepa SAN.

The preceding Judge, Richard Olorufemi agreed that since the issue is a constitutional matter, it is time-bound and would be given accelerated hearing.

He said all matters concerning the purported  impeachment would come to an end after the adoption of the originating summon on the 3rd of December, 2019.
