The publisher of Confluencelink Magazine and former Councilor representing Ejiba Ward, Hon. Oloruntoba Abraham has congratulated Hon. Abdulrasaq Ijagbemi for emerging as the consensus candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming local council polls.
Toba described the choice of Rasaq as the best for Yagba East, saying Rasaq possess the required moral, intelligence, capacity and unparalleled experience in local government administration.
The publisher said he has known Hon. Razaq Ijagbemi since 2008 as a grass root politician and one who is always concerned about improving the lives of his people.
He further described Hon. Rasaq as one of the best councilor Isanlu Community has ever produced, having performed excellently well to the admiration of all between 2008 and 2011.
According to him, Hon. Ijagbemi did not disappoint the people of Yagba East while he served as Administrator of local government under the present administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
“As a long time friend and ally, I have no doubt in my mind that Yagba East will not regret supporting him. He is a humble personality who listens and respect everybody, an unassuming and lover of people and democracy,” Toba said.
He also described the emergence of Hon. Rasaq as the Chairmanship candidate of the APC as a reward for service, competency, generosity and ability to deliver appropriately, and not an imposition as many would want to suggest.
“Though he is the younger brother of Asiwaju Idris Asiru, the Hon. Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Planning, but I know having interacted with some APC stalwarts across Yagba East that his choice was a consensus decision of leaders and party members, and has absolutely nothing to do with his relationship with the honourable commissioner,” Toba added.
He noted that Hon. Rasaq, as a tested and trusted citizen of Yagba East, is qualified by all standard to lead his people considering his political credentials, credibility and contribution to his party.
The publisher thanked all APC stakeholders and party executives for standing by his long time friend and chairmanship hopeful, assuring them that Yagba East will be better under Rasaq as their trust will not be betrayed if elected.
He also appealed to the good people of Yagba East to rally round and support Hon. Rasaq to become the next elected chairman of the local government.
