Confluence 21 Forum Hails Senator Yakubu Oseni’s Legislative Impact

  • Present Him With An Award Of Excellent Performance.

Senator representing Kogi Central, Yakubu Oseni has been described as the most outstanding senator from the state.

A group, the Confluence 21 Forum, made this known on Friday when they presented an award of excellence on Oseni for his impactful and outstanding legislative service at the Senate chamber of the National Assembly complex, Abuja.

Coordinator of the Forum, Comrade Jerry Benjamin, extolled Senator Oseni for his laudable performance in office.

He stated that the award is borne out of the Forum’s sincere desire to encourage good governance in Kogi state, adding that Senator Oseni is the first person to be given an award for excellent performance by the Forum because he has truly distinguished himself by proving to be outstanding in his duty to his constituents and has made the youths of the state proud with his performance within the last three years in office.

He noted that Senator Oseni was singled out among his peers because he has done so well for his people and the forum decided to give him the award in other to encourage him to do more.

He commended the senator for his various landmark constituency projects, especially the ICT / CBT Center in Okene which was recently commissioned by the Senate President, saying that the center is about the largest of its kind in the country and its well stocked with the best of ICT facilities in the world.

While speaking to enlighten the Senator on the Forum’s objectives, Comrade Jerry disclosed that the forum was established to promote good governance and to foster unity in the state irrespective of tribal, religious and political affiliation. He said the common objective is for all Kogite to see themselves as one.  

He further disclosed that the members are drawn from every polling units, wards and local governments areas to render support for each other to grow in any area of endeavors.

He used the opportunity to introduce the secretary of the forum, Engr. Suleiman Aminu Adaira to the senator, intimating him of the secretary intention to contest for house of representatives position within Kogi Central senatorial district.

Responding, Senator Oseni said in the early days of his assumption of office he had to turn down several requests from associations who wanted to give him awards because he was determined to concentrate on his assignment to his people. But having been able to commission some of the constituency projects he  embarked upon, he has opened up his door to receive awards for the good work done by him.

He noted that the award is not just an appreciation for what he has done so far but equally an encouragement to urge him to do more.

He also noted that his performance is precipitated on his desire to justify the mandate given to him by his constituents and his glad that his efforts has attracted recognition.

Oseni pledged to do more to the best of his ability for the people of Kogi central.

He appreciated the forum for the unity of having members across all the local governments in the state and for being devoid of tribal, religion and political sentiments.

He equally commend the forum for standing up for good governance of the state.
