Communal Crisis: Kabba Bunu LG Administrator Reaffirms Commitment to Peaceful Coexistence

Mr Moses Olorunleke, the Sole Administrator of Kabba/Bunu Local Government in Kogi has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to ensure peaceful coexistence among residents of the area.
Olorunleke made the affirmation at a stakeholders meeting community leaders on the communal conflict resolution on Friday in Kabba.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting was aimed at settling the differences between Agbadu and Ebira, who recently clashed, leading to demolition of some houses in the area.
The administrator reiterated his commitment to return of peace and harmony among all residents of the local government area irrespective of religious, political, cultural or ethnic differences.
Olorunleke reaffirmed the importance of peace, unity, progress and development in the “New Direction Blueprint’’ of Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration.
He noted that the government was commitment to zero tolerance for crime and criminality in the state.
“Our determination to see to the security of lives and properties of the people is a journey without an end.
“With God on our side, the security of our people is not negotiable,’’ he said.
The community leaders expressed joy over the timely response of the administrator and heads of security agencies to nip the crisis in the bud.
The Oba of Agbadu, Chief Joshua Olumi, spoke on behalf of the community leaders.
He promised that his people would be “their brothers’ keepers’’ and abide by every resolution reached at the meeting for peace to reign in the area.
The Divisional Police Officer in the area, Mr Ochinka Usman, also spoke on behalf of security agencies in the area.
He reiterated the commitment of all security operatives to securing the lives and properties of the people.
He requested the members of communities to provide relevant information on suspicious activities of any group or individual in the area.
NAN reports that traditional rulers, leaders of Fulani, Ebira, Bassa, Tiv and their respective householders were present at the meeting.
