Kogi state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Idris Musa, has expressed satisfaction with the tremendous efforts of Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello, in maintaining lasting peace in the state and contributing his quota to national and global peace.

Idris gave the commendation while addressing journalists and citizens who participated in the Peace Walk in commemoration of 2021 International Peace Day organised by ActionAid Nigeria in conjunction with PIBCID.

He said, “this giant stride by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, through effective service delivery and good governance remains the reason for the peace and stability enjoyed in the state.

He added that Governor Bello’s pragmatic approach to security of life and properties under his administration has helped to redefine leadership in the state, thereby positioning the state an enabling environment for all positive activities to thrive.

“We just had the peace walk through major parts of the state capital uninterrupted because everywhere in Kogi state is peaceful.

“His Excellency’s strategic ideals and approach to security translated to the level of this peaceful environment, even at a time where the security of some part of the nation is seriously under threat,” he said.

He commended ActionAid Nigeria and PIBCID for their collaboration with the State Ministry of Youth and Sports, and extended his heartfelt solidarity to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, on the occasion of this year’s commemoration of the International Day of Peace in line with United Nations resolution 55/282 of 1981.

He urged all youths in the state to continue to present themselves as good ambassadors of peace by contributing their quota to a peaceful society.
