The newly coronated Elulu of Mopa, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Oba Muyiwa Ibeun has taken to Church to give thanks to God Almighty for his successful appointment and coronation as the Elulu of Mopa.
HRM Oba Ibeun led his entourage to First Baptist Church, Ileteju – Mopa in Kogi State on Sunday, 19th May.
The Elulu appreciated God for the success of all of the programs and activities. He also appreciated Mopa Traditional Council (MTC) led by Otunba David Saul Olojo and the entire Kingmakers.
He added that it is not by anyone’s doing, but by God, quoting Psalm 127:1, Oba Ibeun said; “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. All glory be to the Lord”.
The Minister in charge of the Church, Reverend Joshua Ige earlier admonished the new Elulu quoted Romans 12:17 (KJV); “Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men”, he advised Oba Ibeun not to pay evil with evil.
The Minister in like manner admonished the people of Mopa to always pray for the Elulu, he quoted I Timothy 2:1-2; “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty”.
Oba Ibeun called for truce amongst others that aspired the Elulu stool with him, called them prominent sons of Mopa Land and that they have contested because of the love they have for Mopa. He said he has no enemies, that they are all his friends.
He pleaded with them to join him, that he knows that the development of Mopa is paramount to them.
Oba Ibeun in continuum says; “we are mere tools in the hand of God, no one has powers apart from the power of God. God gives directions, while he puts some persons to lead”.
He said we thank God for always answering prayers, seeks for more prayers; “this is when Mopaland needs more prayers”, he pleaded with Reverend Ige.
He also called on Mopa indigens that the time to work is now; “let’s join hands to develop Mopa”, he stresses.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Olugbenga Oloyede, Olusin of Isanlu-Isin during his remarks congratulated Mopa, described Elulu as truthful, gentle and worthy to be associated with.
Rev. Alabi Kayode of Ore-Ofe Baptist Church, Ileteju, Mopa also graced the occasion, appreciating God in the life of Oba Ibeun and Mopa town. He prayed for longevity of live for the new Elulu and more prosperity for Mopa during his reign.
Reverend Ige anointed Oba Ibeun, emphasized that it is a replication of biblical practice, which symbolizes that God has chosen the King.
“A New Mopa will come in your reign, A Mopa that will regain it’s lost glory”, Reverend Ige prayed.
The topic of Reverend Ige’s led sermon was ‘Finger of God’, quoted from Exodus which is chapter 8.
“Finger of God symbolizes the hand of God, the movement of the power of God, the unprecedented display of the mightiness of God”, the Reverend emphasized.
While delivering her goodwill message, Provost of College of Education (Technical), Mopa, Mrs. Victoria Olushola Jagboro who led a team of staff and management to the thanksgiving ceremony gave assurance on relocation of COET, to Mopa. She said the next batch of the college students on 1st of June will resume on Mopa soil.
She prayed for Mopa, said more good things will continue to happen in Mopa in Oba Ibeun’s reign.
Members of Mopa Traditional Council, family, friends and well wishes graced the thanksgiving program.
Reverend Ige offered concluding prayer as requested by Oba Ibeun, shared benediction.
